Yuengling Black & Tan
D. G. Yuengling & Son, Inc.
Pottsville, Pennsylvania
I picked this stuff up when I was in Nashville last weekend. At $5.99 a sixer I didn't think I could lose. I've always wanted to try something from our oldest brewery and this brew doesn't disappoint. Now, it's not on par with some of the better craft porters but it delivers a solid dark semi-smokey and slightly fruity estered taste. I have a feeling that Yuengling's lager is on par with the Budweisers of the world and that it wouldn't be quite to my liking. But that's another posting and predicament to consider. Presently I'm soaking my cow tongue in creamy cocoa suds.

But where's the no-no????
It's already moved on to another puddy spud.
One of my favorite cheap beers. I have my in-laws bring up a case from Florida when they visit.
Yuengling's Lager is *much* better than Budweiser/Miller swill. I can hardly even drink Bud anymore thanks to the Yuengling Lager. Really, you should try it. It's the best beer at its price point.
I just recently tried this Black & Tan and loved it. Another win for Yuengling.
I'll have to try the blah-ger.
The "Traditional Lager" (the famous amber lager that Yuengling is known for) is much better than Bud. The "Premium Lager" that is used in the Black and Tan is even worse than Bud.
(But I still love the Black and Tan, just don't try the Premium Lager on its own)
Hmmm...so traditional is better than premium? Go figure! I'll remember that.
